Dear Parents or Guardians of PHS Seniors,

\r\n

Graduation is quickly approaching; I know families are busy making preparations at home, and we are busy making plans for the commencement ceremony at PHS as well. The faculty and staff at Plainfield High School wish to make graduation a memorable occasion. We are all looking forward to Saturday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m.

\r\n

As I mentioned, much planning has gone into this event, and we are asking for your help in keeping the

\r\n

graduation ceremony the formal, much anticipated event that it ought to be. The graduates will be expected to dress appropriately. The young men should wear nice slacks, a collared shirt, and proper dress shoes (no tennis shoes or sandals). The ladies should wear a dress or dress slacks with dress shoes or sandals. Students who are not in proper attire will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. Students, parents, and guests should all conduct themselves in a responsible manner.

\r\n

A mandatory graduation practice will be held on Friday, May 24, at 8:00 a.m. in the field house.Students who do not attend the practice will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.  The PTO will sponsor a breakfast prior the required practice.

\r\n

For the graduation ceremony, there is no reserved seating and no ticket is required; however, again this year there will be overflow seating in the auditorium with audio and visual projected on a large screen. Special seating requests, due to a disability, can be arranged by contacting Lani Ricketts in the Student Services Office at 317-838-3630 by Friday, May 17. All of parking lot number one (1) is reserved for handicapped parking; handicapped entry to the facility is through door number three (3). All others may enter through doors one (1), seven (7), and twenty-one (21). Please see the enclosed parking map. We will open all doors to the facility at 10:00 a.m. on May 25.

\r\n

We would like to thank all of you for your support over the years. We appreciate your attendance at countless activities; let’s all work together to make this graduation the best event it can be, and one of which we can all be proud.

\r\n

Sincerely,

\r\n
