After a tenure defined by grit, community spirit, and a commitment to excellence, Andrew Weaver has announced he is stepping down as the head coach of the Plainfield High School boys' basketball program.

Coach Weaver’s departure marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in Quakers athletics. Known for his tactical mind on the sidelines and his mentorship off the court, Weaver has been a steadying force for the Red and White, guiding student-athletes through the highs and lows of the competitive Mid-State Conference.

A Legacy of Leadership

Throughout his time as head coach, Coach Weaver was more than just a strategist; he was a builder of character. Under his guidance, the program prioritized:

  • Academic Excellence: Ensuring players succeeded in the classroom as much as on the hardwood.

  • Community Connection: Strengthening the bond between the high school program and the Plainfield youth basketball leagues.

  • Competitive Resilience: Turning the Quakers into a tough out every Friday night, regardless of the opponent.

Looking Ahead

While Weaver is hanging up the whistle for now, his impact on PHS athletics will be felt for years to come. The search for a successor begins immediately, with the administration looking for a leader who can build upon the solid foundation Weaver leaves behind.

The entire Plainfield community—students, faculty, and alumni—offers a sincere "Thank You" to Coach Weaver for his years of dedication. We wish him and his family nothing but the best in their next chapter.
