It has been a great year for Plainfield athletics as multiple Quaker teams delivered outstanding performances across winter sports.
The Boys Varsity Basketball team earned an impressive 84–52 victory over Southport. The Quakers showcased balanced scoring in the win, led by Noah Smith with 17 points and Harper Baker-Lands with 16. Trey Barton and Landon Gilliatt each added 14 points, while Isaac Stead contributed 9. Gilliatt also dished out 10 assists, and Smith pulled down 9 rebounds to help fuel the dominant performance. The Girls Swimming and Diving team capped off an incredible season as County and Sectional Champions, with multiple athletes advancing to the state level.
Sectional Champions and State Qualifiers included:
200 Medley Relay: Julia Baker, Allie Woodard, Maddie Western, Maddie Moore
200 IM: Allie Woodard
50 Freestyle: Aubrie Keating
100 Butterfly: Adele Simon
500 Freestyle: Allie Woodard
200 Freestyle Relay: Aubrie Keating, Maddie Moore, Mya Irving, Adele Simon
100 Backstroke: Julia Baker
400 Freestyle Relay: Adele Simon, Allie Woodard, Ava Becker, Aubrie Keating
A highlight of the postseason came from Adele Simon, who broke the school record in the 100 Butterfly at Sectionals — then went on to lower her own record at the State meet.
In diving, Audrey Brown and Averi Zick both qualified for Regionals. Brown advanced to the State Finals and placed 14th overall, capping off a tremendous season.

The excitement continues this weekend as the Quaker community heads to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to support Kellen Schoeff at the IHSAA State Wrestling Finals. Schoeff is Plainfield’s first State Finalist since 2021, earning his spot through relentless work ethic and determination.
He will compete Friday night during Session II, which begins at 6:00 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Mat 2 (third match). Schoeff will face Kaid Jackson of Delta in a highly anticipated rematch, seeking redemption after an earlier loss this season. (Purchase your ticket here for the Wresting State Finals)
