Graduation Information - 2020

Friday July 17th @ 8:00 PM

(Gates open at 7:00 PM)

The decision about weather cancellations will be made no later than three hours prior to the ceremony. If weather does not allow us to hold our event on the scheduled date, we will announce it via  ParentSquare.  

Dress Requirement

The weather forecast is calling for warm temperatures for Friday evening, so please dress for the weather.  Shorts and tennis shoes are appropriate for this evening. This will be a much more casual ceremony than we have had in the past.  We would however ask that you NOT decorate your cap. We would like this to be an event in which we display solidarity as a class. Face Masks will be required to be worn and provided once you arrive on Friday.

Student Parking

Students and staff will be asked to park at the “S” Building and the East lot as shown in the map below.

Graduate Seating

Chairs will be located on the football field 9 feet apart.  Students will be assigned a seat in alphabetic order, and be marked with each student’s name. 

Process

We ask that all graduates be seated on the field 15 minutes prior to the start times listed.  When you get to the football field make your way to the chairs and find your seat.  Please do not congregate with your classmates prior to or after the ceremony.   At the end of the ceremony, we ask that all graduates and parents exit school property as soon as possible.

 

Parent Parking

Parent Parking will be located in all areas of the High School lots.  

                 Parent Admission

We are only allowing two tickets per graduate to attend the event live. Only tickets marked #1 or #2 will be accepted at the assigned ticket gates.  Everyone in attendance will be required to wear a mask throughout the ceremony. Please email mmenser@plainfield.k12.in.us if you need handicap seating reserved. Gates open one hour prior to the event.

Parent Seating

We will have three venues for viewing the ceremony in the bleacher area. Each venue is divided into sections of no more than 250 people. We will have blue “X’s” marked for appropriate social distancing in the home and visitor bleacher areas.  Once a venue reaches 250 people that area will be closed to additional spectators.
