Plainfield High School principal Brent Schwanekamp recently had the great job of recognizing junior student-athlete Hannah Menser with an IHSAA Sportsmanship pin, celebrating the positive influence she has had on young girls basketball players throughout the Plainfield community. This recognition highlighted not only Hannah’s accomplishments on the court, but also the character and leadership she demonstrates beyond the game.

Coaches and community members have noted Hannah’s willingness to encourage younger athletes. Her kindness and enthusiasm have helped many girls see what dedication, teamwork, and respect for others look like in action. Those who work with her say she consistently leads with humility and sets an example that others naturally want to follow.

Principal Schwanekamp praised Hannah for representing the very best of Plainfield High School. “Sportsmanship is about how you treat people, especially when no one is watching,” he shared. “Hannah shows that every day. She makes those around her better, and that’s what Red Pride is all about.”

The IHSAA Sportsmanship award is reserved for students who model integrity, respect, and responsibility. Hannah Menser’s impact on the next generation of athletes makes her a deserving recipient and a true role model for the Plainfield community.
