Thanks to our amazing Central Elementary for such a wonderful and engaging Literacy Week and Literacy Night last week! Families loved coming to Central "after hours" to have some fun reading with "Let's Glow Read" night! Our PTO rocks!

4th and 5th grade students love having the opportunity to participate in our Battle of the Books competition yearly. This afternoon, the two final teams competed to be Central's champion. Tomorrow, the champs from each elementary will battle it out for the district wide Battle of the Books trophy! Good luck to all teams!

Today we celebrated elf day at Central! This tradition was started many years ago by former elementary principal, Mr. Underwood. We (and all of the elementary schools) love continuing the tradition every December. The Grinch even made an appearance at lunchtime today!

Every year at the end of November, 1st graders at Central read "Balloons Over Broadway" and learn about the history of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students then have the opportunity to create their very own balloon for their Parade Walk through the halls of Central.
