Celebrating Dot day in Mrs. Maple's class! Dot day is inspired by Peter Reynold's book "The Dot" where a student learns the importance of embracing the unknown, failure, and the courage to be yourself. What a great lesson!

In Service Reminder
Last Thursday when it was H-O-T outside, 3rd graders did an experiment as a culmination to their unit of learning about the Scientific Method. Was the temperature really hot enough to melt the crayons? Although most of the students hypothesized yes, turns out crayons don't start to melt until it is at least 105°! No melted crayons but a great experiment!

2nd grade used picture books with Teddy Bears as the characters to teach some reading skills and the end culmination was a Teddy Bear sleepover. Students took home invitations and got to bring their stuffies for a sleepover. Turns out the stuffies had quite the party while sleeping over at school!
