Enjoying the Spring weather!

Happy Earth Day! 2nd graders worked with community partner Kroger to decorate paper sacks for the store to use with their customers' groceries today. If you happen to go to Kroger today, you may get one of the decorated sacks from our 2nd-graders!

Central's 5th-grade track team had a great time last night at the elementary 5th-grade track meet at PHS!
This event is a competition between the 5th grade students from the 5 Plainfield elementary schools. In the first two years of our event (2018, 2019) Central came away as champions! Although we came in a close 2nd to Guildford this year, it was great to see all of the elementary schools engage in fun and friendly competition! The events that were included were the 100 M hurdles, 100 M dash, 200 M, 400 M, and 800 M. We also had 3 field events in long jump, shot put, and javelin (not a real javelin of course!)
Special thanks goes out to our wonderful Mr. Wheeler for helping to make it such a great success and more importantly, fun for everyone involved!

Last Friday 1st-graders combined Spelling practice with an Easter egg hunt!

Plainfield's 5th grade track meet is tonight at 5:30 at PHS. 5th-graders from all 5 elementary schools will be competing. Come out and cheer on your Central 5th-grade track team!

Congratulations to Isabella for being Central's March value winner! We are so proud of you!

2nd-graders working on an Earth Day project in partnership with Plainfield Kroger

..and here is our winning Central Battle of the Books team that competed against the 4 other winning teams from the Plainfield elementaries! You girls rocks!

It was so fun this past week to see all of the 4th and 5th grade Battle of the Books teams competing and engaging in their love of reading! A huge shout out goes to our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Price, for all of the work that she did behind the scenes to make it so fun and successful for the students!

Mrs. Hess' and Mrs. A Johnson's classes used the 4 C's during their weekly book buddies time to complete a fun STEM activity.

More fun that was captured at Friday's Walkathon! Thanks again to everyone who helped make it happen!

The Walkathon on Friday was such a blast for everyone involved! Special thanks go to the amazing PTO volunteers, Walkathon sponsors, and all of the family members that volunteered their time to walk with classes!

Our PCSC elementary robotics teams have been working hard and will come together on Friday, April 29 at 5:30 for a scrimmage! Join us at Guilford Elementary to cheer them on! Please see the attached flyer for more information.

2nd graders have been learning about animal adaptations and habitats throughout the month of April. What better way to learn than to visit the animals at the zoo?! This week, the 2nd graders will be using what they learned from their field trip to write an animal report.

More pictures from 5th grade's trip to Biztown!

4th grade Design Thinking in action!

Plainfield's Walkathon is this Friday!

Last week, Central 5th graders enjoyed their field trip to Biztown where they got to put what they have learned about economics into action. What a fun trip and great experience!

4th graders always have such a great time on their field trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to help them learn more about Indiana's rich history with racing. This year was no exception!

Welcome back from Spring Break! We can't wait to see all of the smiling Central faces this week :)
Before break, 4th grade students completed their Egg Drop engineering challenge. It's always fun to see all of the different prototypes!
