Due to police activity in the area near Central and Van Buren schools, both buildings were briefly in LOCKOUT mode this afternoon. While the building perimeters were secured, students were going about normal learning activities in their classrooms. The situation did not last very long and everything has since returned to normal.

Thank you to the Optimist Club and our students in Octagon Club, who have organized a #CoatDrive that will span the next couple of weeks. Drop off gently used coats at the Friday pm football game!

Great experience this morning with Brentwood 5th graders, teachers, chaperones as they begin their Jameson Camp trip. Excellent program & agenda give kids new experiences in fresh air setting.
