Today we congratulate Lauren Coffey, a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist who is still in the running for even greater honors! Lauren is planning to study chemical engineering and has her sights set on Harvard! Way to go, Lauren! Note: this corrects info from yesterday's post.

Here's a little nugget of reality: today is the mid-point of the First Quarter of 2019-2020! How can that be?! https://gph.is/2O15tUn

Given today's severe weather warnings, student dismissal will be delayed at PCMS and PHS. This will also affect elementary students. We will update you with more information as it becomes available.

Exciting news! This morning, FOX59 will be on-campus at PCMS, filming a segment for this Friday's "Your Town Friday!" So if you're dropping off a student, don't be surprised or concerned when you see their mobile truck and a videographer walking around! #QuakerFaces

All right Quaker friends and fans! The Quaker Corner bookstore at PHS has an all-new lineup this year, and they also have an all-new website! Be sure to shop their site to update your Quaker gear! https://www.phsquakercorner.com/

Big shout out to all who attended last night's Kindergarten and New Parent Forum! So many excellent questions and we loved meeting our new families. If you couldn't make it, here is the link to the presentation: https://5il.co/9jon Happy Friday Quakers!

Thursday, August 15 at 6 pm, at the PHS Auditorium, we are hosting a forum for parents new to Plainfield schools: Kindergarten and transfer families, and those who've moved in over the summer. We hope you will join us to meet our administrators and learn more about PCSC.

Somehow it's already the second Thursday of August, which means the Board of School Trustees will be meeting at 7 pm! Hope you can join us at the Administration Building!

You may recall that a few months ago we introduced PHS History teacher, Adam Ferguson, as our 2020 Plainfield Teacher of the Year. We learned this week that he's been named a Top 30 Finalist, and continues in the competition. Congratulations, Adam! #QuakerFaces #2020TOY

To the adults in the lives of our 5,700+ #QuakerFaces students, we pledge our best as we begin a new year tomorrow: the best educators who use the best methods of instruction while getting to know EVERY student, and the best security measures to keep everyone safe. #LetsDoThis!

This morning we welcome back our teachers with an opening breakfast as we officially begin a new school year. What a wonderful group of professionals who truly love your children. #QuakerFaces #ThePlainfieldWay
