Free Bicycle Helmets to all Central Students--Thanks to INDOT!

Students at Central are spending this week--and upcoming weeks--learning all about Bike Safety. Thanks to a partnership with the Indiana Department of Transportation, all students K-5 at Central are receiving brand new bike helmets! INDOT is spending this week at Central to teach students how to properly fit their new helmets, how to obey traffic laws while riding their bikes, and what precautions to take so that they're safe!

In addition to these bike helmets, students will spend upcoming class time with Plainfield Police Department bicycle officers, where they will work on additional bike safety. Our friends at Gear Up Cyclery will be coming to the school to help with the bike lessons in April, working on bike riding. Students in 4th and 5th grade will also get the opportunity to participate in the bicycling club, which will return this year.

All in all, we expect to see Central Champs riding safely on the Plainfield Parks trail system this spring and summer!

Huge thanks to Ms. Maisie Smith, P.E. teacher at Central for her hard work at providing these cycle-related activities to our students!
