The Red Pride Booster Club presented scholarships to four outstanding student-athletes this week.

It's been another great (and busy) week, but we sure miss our students!

Construction continues at Van Buren; we'll try to get some updated photos for next week!

The PHS Red Pride Booster Club met this week and presented scholarships to four outstanding student-athletes; we are so grateful for the faithful fans and loyal fundraisers who are a part of our Booster Club!

Last weekend, IHSAA baseball fans came to Plainfield and the PHS field for semi-state action. It's a great honor to be selected to host these games, and it's also a lot of work to prepare for the event! Many thanks to everyone who helped!

Our high school girls basketball program hosted their junior camp this week, and if the number of participants and big smiles count, we should have a bright future!

PHS football players and coaches traveled to IU yesterday for a day camp with the Hoosiers, and from all reports, it was a great day of team-building and individual skill work.

The PCMS cheerleaders were hard at work this week, as they prepare for summer competitions and fall sports. We love to see their enthusiasm and energy!

We're proud to share the news that PHS 2014 grad, Conner Mitchell, was drafted by the LA Dodgers in the 27th round! Conner had a great career pitching for Butler, and it looks like he has another great opportunity in front of him. We wish him all the best, and know that #QuakerFaces near and far will be cheering him along the journey.

While the week has been bursting with sports activities, there have been some other things happening! Mrs. Sherman and Ms. Landis hosted a STEM camp for elementary students, and from the videos they were tweeting, it sure looked like a lot of fun!

Dr. Giesting, Mrs. Ballinger and several teachers attended a STEM Summit today, along with Indiana Superintendent of Schools Jennifer McCormick and teachers from all over the state. Our teachers continue to use their summer as not only a break for rest and relaxation, but also to learn new skills and approaches to instruction. Their devotion to their work is second-to-none!

At last night's School Board meeting, we honored three retirees: Mrs. Mogg (Central), Mr. (Chris) Cavanaugh (PHS), and Ms. Sprowl (PHS) . Together, they have invested 99 years instructing the children of Plainfield. We wish them all the best, while thanking them for their tremendous commitment and talents.

Several PHS student-athletes advanced to the state level in their respective sports, and last night we honored them at the board meeting. Our track and golf programs are thriving and we commend these students on their success.

We also recognized the May Community Value award winners, who best represented the value of Integrity in their schools. Congratulations to these bright young people who, regardless of their ages, are standouts in their schools!

And finally, one more baseball photo - this time of our youth baseball players as they warmed up with "the big kids." Building a sense of belonging, working on foundational skills, and just plain having fun are all parts of these summer sports camps.
