Brentwood students honored for their "Symphony in Color" art contest entries

Brentwood third grade students Alex Stevens and Briana Dilbeck learned this week that their entries in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's Symphony in Color elementary art competition earned honors!

The annual statewide event received more than 23,000 entries this year, and Alex finished in the top 100. Briana was just a few slots behind him, still finishing within the top 110 students overall.

As part of the program, students listen to several pieces of orchestral music, then select one of the works from which to create a piece of art that reflects how the music makes them feel. Alex chose Star Wars: Main Title, while Briana selected A Midsummer Night's Dream: Scherzo.

Students who finished in the top 100 will have their work displayed at the Indiana State Museum from March 30 through May 5.

Congratulations, Alex and Briana!
