We are thrilled to share the news that the Plainfield Community School Corporation ranked among Indiana’s best school districts on last spring’s ISTEP+ assessment.
Based on scores from students in grades 3-8 who passed both math and language arts, Plainfield ranked fourth statewide. This represents the highest state ranking Plainfield has earned, and includes all 374 public and private school districts in the state.
When you factor in the high school scores, Plainfield Community Schools rank 7th in the state.
Students in grades 5 and 7 are also tested on Social Studies, and our combined ranking for this measure is 6th highest. While that is a great result, our 7th grade students earned the #1 ranking statewide!
The science assessment is done at the 4th and 6th grade levels, and our students earned an impressive 7th place position.
Plainfield is an outstanding community in which to raise a family, with tremendous support for its children and schools. Our teachers and administrators work tirelessly to provide the best and most interesting ways to bring lessons to life, and yet we must constantly balance that with the reality of mandated assessments.
So while our mission is to bring joy to learning (and we see that happening every day), we are incredibly proud of the effort that goes into creating an environment that prepares students to show their knowledge on these tests.
