  • Grew up in Elkhart; lived in Indiana her whole life
  • Attended Indiana University, Saint Mary’s College
  • Favorite hobbies, pastimes: “I love fashion, home decorating, spending time outdoors and being with my friends and family. In middle school and high school, I danced competitively, played volleyball and was a band member.”
  • Favorite memory as a young student: “I loved attending all the sporting events!”

Mrs. Hummel, Family & Consumer Science (FACS)

  • Grew up in Fairland (Triton Central HS); lived in Indiana her whole life
  • Attended Ball State University
  • Favorite hobbies, pastimes: “My three children and their activities, water sports, baseball, and spending time with family and friends.”
  • Favorite memory as a young student: “My high school FACS teacher was an amazing role model and encourager. She fostered my love of FACS education.”

Mr. Reber, College & Career Advisor

  • Attended Franklin College
  • Favorite hobbies, pastimes: sports – Cubs, Pacers, Colts; spending time with family; anything outdoors
  • Favorite memory as a young student: being able to connect with teachers and building long-lasting relationships

Mr. Sheppard, 10th Grade English

  • Grew up in Covington; has only lived in Indiana
  • Attended Purdue University
  • Favorite hobbies, pastimes: golf, soccer, reading
  • Favorite memory as a young student: “My favorite memories came from playing sports and being a part of a team, and from the relationships I built with teachers and peers.”

Ms. Spindler, English 9 and 11 CP

  • Grew up in Quad Cities (on the Illinois/Iowa border); has lived in Indiana, Iowa, Illinois
  • Attended Augustana College, Iowa State University
  • Favorite hobbies, pastimes: reading, weightlifting, spending time with family and friends, snuggling my Australian Shepherd puppy
  • Favorite memory as a young student: Going to and placing Top 3 at the state track meet in pole vault; spending time with best friends; starting a gymnastics team and competing

  • Grew up in Plainfield; has lived in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida
  • Attended Indiana University, IUPUI, Western Governors University
  • Favorite hobbies, pastimes: spending time with family, running, reading, drawing or painting
  • Favorite memory as a young student: great relationships with great high school teachers
