Central fourth and fifth graders recently participated in the Indiana M.A.T.H bowl at our local area contest held at Avon Middle School South. This was a record year for participation at Central and for the first time, we sent two teams to compete at MATH Bowl. Starting in January, students practiced every Wednesday morning before school to learn about data analysis, statistics, and probability. Questions used during MATH Bowl are based on 5-7th grade standards over these topics as well as number sense and computation. Central had a group of 20 fifth-graders that participated in the orange class and finished fourth at our area contest. In addition, a group of 13 fourth graders participated in the yellow class and finished first in the area contest. We are so proud of the teamwork and dedication our Central Champs displayed during the entire Math Bowl season!
