Summer Odyssey Camp

…okay, so scientists didn’t really say that. But they should have!

This June, students entering grades 1-6 had the opportunity to come to day-long camp experiences at The Imagination Lab. These Summer Odyssey camps had programming for every age level. For our younger students, they worked on art science, robotics, food science, and more.

For our older students, some activities included coding, color theory, astronomy, and 3D modeling & printing.

These camps were offered to students in the school district for only $10/day, along with some generous grants from Duke Energy. The odysseys are taught by elementary teachers, with help from instructional aides and middle and high school student volunteers. During the school year, all students in grades K-5 attend odysseys each month. The biggest difference with these camps is that this is a day-long odyssey, allowing students to have much more time to work on multi-step tasks.

While this summer’s camps are wrapping up, be sure to put this on your calendar for next summer! It’s ‘scientifically recommended’!
