Meet Ana Romo, Instructional Aide for English Language Learners at Clarks Creek Elementary School. After holding a similar position at Brentwood for two years, Ana is beginning her second year at Clarks Creek. She is also the school’s Spanish translator.
When Ana lived in Mexico, she taught in a private elementary and middle school for 12 years.
Ana said that she loves helping the students who are afraid of school because of the language barrier. Watching their confidence grow as they become more confident as English-speaking students is especially rewarding.
Given plenty of time to relax and pursue hobbies, we would most likely find Ana listening to music and spending time with her family.
When asked what she’d like adults to know about today’s youth, Ana said, “Know your kids. Know how they will respond to different situations, and what you can do in order to make them better every single day!”
