This year's spring play is the Broadway hit and Pulitzer Prize winning comedy "You Can't Take it With You", and it's sure to keep you rolling in the aisles! This eccentric family full of quirks and unusual talents will win your hearts and will make you feel lighter than when you arrived. While it is highly entertaining, younger kiddos than middle school age probably wouldn't enjoy it as much as the older ones.

Performances will run April 19-21 at 7:00 P.M. each evening.

Tickets are: $10 for adults / $8 for students and Sr. citizens 65 and over. 


meet the Cast

Anna Ardelean (Grandma Vanderhof) is a senior at Plainfield High School. This is Anna’s 9th show at PHS. You may have seen her as Mrs. Savage in The Curious Savage, Aunt March in Little Women, Mama Ogre in Shrek, Viney in The Miracle Worker, and more. Anna is also a member of Belles et Beaux and is the Drama Club president. When she is not rehearsing, you can find Anna studying case law, watching Grey’s Anatomy, sleeping, singing, or hanging out with her friends. In the future, Anna plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana to double major in political science and history, and then take on law school. Anna would like to thank Mr. Dillon, Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Minardo, and Mrs. Lewis for teaching her so much over the past four years. She would also like to thank her parents for supporting her throughout this journey. She hopes you enjoy You Can’t Take It With You!



Mikayla Robinson (Alice Sycamore) is a senior at PHS. Her previous roles include a peacock in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, a blind girl in The Miracle Worker, a Duloc dancer in Shrek: The Musical, and Miss Willie in The Curious Savage. She’s been on costume crew for Thoroughly Modern Millie, Into the Woods, and Little Women. Off stage, she can be found studying, painting, working at uPaint Pottery Studio, or preparing for college. She wants to thank her parents for their infinite support, Mr. Dillon and Mrs. Alexander for their passion in teaching students the art of theatre, and Mrs. Minardo for dealing with her both on and off stage. She hopes you enjoy the show!


Ilanna Bullock (Dominika Kolenkov) is a junior at Plainfield High school and has acted as The Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland: Urban Edition, 1st Crone in The Miracle Worker, A Dragon Girl in Shrek, the Musical, and Lily Belle in The Curious Savage. When she isn't acting, Ilanna is usually drawing, painting, playing with her cat, or hanging out with friends. Ilanna would like to thank Mrs. Alexander, Mr. Dillon, Mrs. Minardo, and her friends and family for supporting her along the way.


Joey VanHooser (Tony Kirby) is a junior at Plainfield High School and is very excited to be a part of this show! Some of his previous roles include Shrek in Shrek, The Musical, Billy Nolan in Carrie: The Musical, Scar in The Lion King, Benny Southstreet in Guys and Dolls, and John Brooke in Little Women. In his free time, he can be found making music, playing video games, or hanging with his friends. He is incredibly thankful for the support of his parents, his friends, and Mr. Dillon for giving him this opportunity. He also would like to thank God for blessing his life in ways he could never imagine. Enjoy the show!


Romael Khan (Donald) is a junior at Plainfield High School and is excited to make his debut as an actor! Since this is Romael’s first show, he has spent his free time doing photography, hanging with his friends, trying to cook new foods, or solving Rubik’s cubes. He is thankful to his parents for getting him to audition, his friends for their support, and the people responsible for putting the play together and giving him the opportunity. He is excited to perform and hopes that you will enjoy the show!



Erin Vaughan (Gay Wellington) is a freshman at Plainfield High School and has been acting since elementary school. Her roles include Flotsam in Little Mermaid Jr. andMushu in Mulan Jr. Recently she was Sponge in James and the Giant Peach Jr. This was one of her favorite roles. Erin loves acting and is looking forward to her role in You Can’t Take it With You. At school, she is in Show Choir, Show Choir Band, Concert and Pep Band in addition to her academics. She gives thanks to Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Minardo, and Mr. Dillion for the help, encouragement and support. As for the show, be sure to “drink” it all in!


Kate Evans (Rheba) is a junior at Plainfield High School and is so excited to perform this show for you! She has previously acted as a chorus girl in Hairspray, Jr., Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker, Puss in Boots in Shrek the Musical, and a hag in Little Women. In her spare time, she loves to read and sing in choir at school and church. She would like to thank Mr. Dillon for helping her to continue to develop her acting skills, Mrs. Alexander for producing this awesome show, and her mom for being nice enough to drive her to rehearsals.


Levi Fenley (Jim) is a sophomore at Plainfield High and is going on stage for the first time with this show. In his extra time he likes to read, run, and, hang out with friends whenever he gets the chance. He is very excited about doing this show and would like to thank Mrs. Alexander for convincing him to audition, his parents for supporting, and Mr. Dillon for teaching him more about the wide world of acting.


Ethan Gooding (Paul) is a senior at Plainfield High School. This is Ethan’s 3rd show at PHS. You may have seen him as Papa Bear in Shrek, the Musical, or as the Knight in Little Women. When Ethan is not at play practice or performing on stage, you can find him doing zumba, finding planets at night with his telescope, or playing games with his brother. Ethan’s future plans are to attend IUPUI, receive his Masters in social work and become a therapist. Ethan would like to thank Mr. Dillon and Mrs. Alexander for encouraging him to try out for this play and giving him the fantastic role of Paul. He is very much excited to perform in this play.


Melinda Goda (Essie Carmichael) is a senior at Plainfield High School. Her previous roles include a squirrel in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, a blind girl in The Miracle Worker, and Fairy May in The Curious Savage. Melinda is also in the theatre production class this semester, so she gets to help behind the scenes.In her free time, you can find Melinda golfing, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. Her future plans include attending Concord University in West Virginia majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science. Melinda would like to thank Mr. Dillon for continuing her education in theatre and helping her find her inner Fairy, Mrs. Alexander for planting the seed of theatre freshman year and helping it bloom into what it is today, and her parents for supporting her in everything she does. She hopes you love the show as much as Essie loves to dance.



Weston Whyde (Mac) is a senior at Plainfield High School and is ecstatic to be a part of You Can’t Take it With You as his first play. In his free time, Weston works as a lifeguard at Splash Island and teaches swim lessons to little kids. Weston plans on attending Indiana University next year to major in Biology and obtain a B.S. He thanks Mr. Dillion and crew for everything they have done for the play and his friends and family for encouraging him to go out for the play.


Logan Eddington (Mrs. Kirby) is a freshman this year at Plainfield. This is her second show at the high school, her first being the last fall musical Little Women as Mrs. Kirk, and she is very excited to be apart of this show. From choreographing her own routine as the sugar plum fairy in her elementary school’s The Nutcracker, to participating in Femmes Fatales show choir, Logan has always been performing in her free time. She would like to thank Mr. Dillon and Mrs. Alexander for giving her this opportunity and helping her improve her acting throughout the year.


Will Kidd (Wilbur C. Henderson) is a Senior at Plainfield High School. He has acted on stage as The Doctor in The Miracle Worker and as a Rat in Alice in WonderLand. He was on stage crew for Plainfield’s production of Shrek and Little women. He was also the handsome face that took your ticket and held the door for you at Plainfield's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. In his free time will co-runs the PHS Film Club® and is an officer for the Drama Club. Will would like to thank Mr. Dillon and Mrs. Alexander for inspiring him to pursue a career in drama education. He would also like to thank you for reading his bio.


Steven Holsapple (Mr. De Pinna) is a junior at Plainfield High School. This will be his second acting experience, and he is ecstatic to reveal the comedy within his character with you. When he is not practicing for show choir or the play, he is typically playing video games, spending some time at his friends’ houses, or studying for his tests. Steven would like to say a word of thanks to Mr. Dillon, Mrs. Heaton, his friends, and parents for helping him along the way with his extracurricular activities. He wishes you to enjoy You Can’t Take it With You!


Joel Wolfe (Mr. Kirby) is a senior at Plainfield High School. This will be his second year acting in a play at PHS. In 2017, Joel played the role of Titus Savage in the PHS production of The Curious Savage. When not on the stage, Joel spends his time playing in the PHS Red Pride Band, spending time with friends, and honing his crafting skills. Joel would like to give a big “thank you” to his mom and dad for their undying support, his friends Jacob Pettyjohn and Will Kidd for urging him to join the theatre program last year, and his wonderful girlfriend Abigail Godwin for always being there to give him that little extra push. Additionally, he wishes the best of luck to Erin Vaughan (Gay Wellington) in her first high school stage production. Joel hopes for the audience to enjoy this charmingly witty and unforgettable play!


Hannah Knop (Penny) is a senior at PHS and this will be her 8th production at the school. Some of Hannah’s favorite musicals and plays have been Into the Woods, Little Women, and The Curious Savage. Hannah has been involved in Belles et Beaux and Femmes Fatales show choir and concert choir for all four years, Vocal Jazz for two, and Drama Club for two years. Outside of school, Hannah enjoys thrifting, listening to old vinyl, and spending time with friends and family. She will be attending Anderson University in the fall and will be majoring in Vocal Performance. She would like to thank Mrs. Heaton, Mrs. Alexander, and Mr. Dillion for helping her become a better actor, singer, and a better person and my family for always supporting me through everything. She hopes you enjoy this amazing show!


Jacob Pettyjohn (Ed) is a Senior at Plainfield High School who has been involved in almost all of Plainfield's productions throughout his high school experience. His prior roles include Edmund in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Waiter in Alice in Wonderland: Urban Edition, Jimmy/Boy's Voice in The Miracle Worker, Knight #1 in Shrek, the Musical, and Hannibal in The Curious Savage. He can also be credited as a member of stage crew for Plainfield High School's production of Little Women. He owes much of his success and general satisfaction in life to his friends and family, who all encouraged him to try out for shows and do theater over the years. When he's not acting, you can catch this handsome boy seeing movies, reading books, hanging out with his theatre friends, and generally enjoying life before college this fall!
