Students celebrate Thanksgiving in many ways

There were many varieties of Thanksgiving feasts observed in our schools this week, and while food sas the focal point, plenty of lessons leading up to the meal itself.

Our youngest students, those who attend Little Quakers Academy, were thrilled to play host to siblings, parents and grandparents for the annual Thanksgiving Feast. The program included a meal, of course, but also provided a great opportunity for students to perform and share the projects they've been working on.

At Plainfield High School, students in the Life Skills class took turns preparing items for their own feast. Their menu included yeast rolls, turkey manhattans with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, steamed broccoli, green bean casserole, and pineapple dump cake. Not only did the room smell amazing, but everything looked delicious as well.

Thank you to all the teachers, assistants and volunteers who went the extra mile this week to bring Thanksgiving to life for our students!
