Announcements

1. There are flyers in the main office for an Enrichment Reading Program offered by IUPUI.  If you are interested, please pick one up.

2. There will be no more charging breakfast or lunch to a student’s lunch account.  You must have money in your account at the time of your purchase.  Your cashier tells you the current balance in your account every day, so make sure to listen carefully.  

3. Plainfield Police Department is sponsoring a Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 19^th at the Plainfield Youth Athletic Complex from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Participants will be able to ride a safety course with a Plainfield police officer, receive a FREE kid’s bike helmet, have free minor bike maintenance done by Gear Up, and win prizes from Chick-Fil-A.

4. Attention all cool people, the in crowd, the out crowd, techies, computer freaks, and anyone else interested in iMac Computers.  Come and attend the iMac Computer camp with a friend from May 29th-June 1st at PHS.  There will be two sessions.  The first session is from 9:00-11:00 and the second session is from 12:00-2:00.  The cost is $50 for the entire week...what a bargain.  While at the camp you'll learn how to operate an iMac and how to use many of its exciting features.  You'll distort pictures in Photo Booth, edit photos in iPhoto, create a DVD slide show for a Father's day gift, make movies, dvds, ringtones, and much more.  Hurry and don't miss this amazing opportunity.  Each session is limited to 20 participants.  Pick up a flyer from the main office or Mr. Craney in room 716.  Hope to see you there.

5. ALL LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE TODAY, May 18th.

6. Parents: You will receive an access code to the Indiana Parent Network which will allow you access to your student’s ISTEP results in with their 4th quarter report card. Please keep in mind, the results will not be available until the end of May.

Sports

1. Come Join the Fun!  The Plainfield 2012 Girls Basketball Camp will be hosted at PHS starting, Tuesday, May 29th and running through Friday, June 1st.  This camp is for girls interested in learning and developing the fundamentals of basketball in a fun environment.  If you are a girl in grade K-8th for the 2012-13 school year you are invited to attend.  Brochures are available in the main office.  Bring your friends and see you there!

2. Current 6th or 7th graders who want to attend the Strength and Conditioning work-outs with Coach Vanderbush at PHS over the summer, you need to see a PE teacher or the main office for a form.

3. Plainfield Summer Tennis Camp forms are available in the front office or from Mr. Planker.   This camp is perfect for beginner to intermediate players in kindergarten through 8th grade next year.  Come on out for some fun in the sun!

4. Basketball Open Gym schedule for current 6th & 7th grade boys. These open gyms will be for all boys that are interested in improving their overall basketball skills & fundamentals; ball handling, shooting, team work, speed work, and scrimmaging.

5. Any 7th grade boy wanting to play football next year who did not get a packet at the call-out meeting with Coach Peters needs to stop by the front office and pick up the packet.

6. The high school volleyball coach is having open gyms on Thursdays from 5:00pm-7:00pm.  Any 8th grade girl interested in volleyball is welcome to attend.

7. Every current 8th grader who will be attending the weight room this summer training with their high school teams needs to attend one of the 3 offered orientations.   The dates are Wednesday, May 23rd, 3:00pm, Thursday, May 24th, 3:00pm, or Friday, May 25th, at 10:00am.

8. Attention current 6th and 7th grade boys interested in getting ready for next year's baseball season.  The Quaker Baseball Summer Camp will be taking place June 12th, 13th, and 14th from 12:30 - 2:30.  The cost of the camp is $35 for athletes that pre-register and $40 for registration at the door.  See Coach Ogden in room 916 to pick up a flyer. 

9. Listen up all 7th grade boys wanting to play football next year: You are reminded to sign up for the Speed and Strength Camp.

10. Athletic physicals for the 2012-2013 school year will be on Wednesday, May 23rd at PCMS from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.  (Enter through door #14.)  The cost is $20.00 and checks should be made out to PCMS. 

11. Attention 6th & 7th grade boys: If you are interested in playing soccer next year and missed the call-out meeting, please stop by the main office to pick up a packet.

12. Any 6^th grader interested in signing up for the Plainfield Optimist football team may pick up the schedule in the main office.  

13. Volleyball camp forms are now available in the main office.

14. Any 8th grade boy who was unable to attend the Freshmen Football Team Camp this week needs to stop by Mr. Carter’s room, room 726, and pick up information about summer dates and equipment pick-up.
