Student Council
The Student Council is a volunteer organization at PCMS that is for the most part dedicated to community service. Students do not need to be elected to student council; they merely show up for meetings. The Student Council is made up of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
The meetings are usually held before school at 7:00 am once a month. Once projects are decided upon, there will be some after school meetings to follow through with things that need to be done regarding those projects or events.
Jr. Optimist Club
The Jr. Optimist Club is open for all students in grades 6 through 8. It is a service club which counts boxtops, makes tie blankets, collects for the homeless, carols for canned food, and supports many causes including a cure for breast cancer, cystic fibrosis, and making donations to the St. Vincent Children’s Rehabilitation Center to name a few.
All members should have a registration and drug form completed and dues paid. The meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month in the media center right after school until 4:00 p.m. We do occasionally have additional meetings and they are posted on the daily school announcements. Members should come to meetings willing to work in a friendly, social atmosphere!
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
FCA is an organization that promotes a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ through athletics and all extra-curricular activities at PCMS. Everyone in grades 6 through 8 are welcome!
The meetings run from 7:00 – 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday mornings and food and drinks are provided!
National Junior Honor Society
Students are considered for honor society at the end of their third semester at the middle school (first semester of seventh grade). At that point their overall grade point average needs to be 3.66 or higher. If they do no have the necessary GPA at that point in time, they will be reconsidered at the end of their first semester in eighth grade. If they have the necessary GPA, their name will be submitted to the faculty for consideration of personal characteristics such as citizenship, service, leadership, and character.
