Media Center Mission Statement
The mission of PHS Media Center is to assist students, teachers, and administrators in fulfilling their educational goals. The media center is dedicated to assisting students to become independent, effective researchers and users of information, to become critical thinkers, capable users of technology, and successful communicators. It is also the mission of the media center to support learning and reading for pleasure.

Plainfield Community School Corporation has an adopted policy (File:EGAA). In essence, four factors determine what is fair use with the the latter of each point favoring fair use:
- Purpose - whether the use is commercial or educational
- Nature - highly creative (art, music, films, novels) or nonfiction based
- Amount - large portion of the work or small amount
- Effect - replaces sale of copyrighted work or would not impact market value
