When you see Katie Wiegand today, tell her “Congratulations!” for having the highest score from PHS this year in American Mathematics Competition, which is a part of the Mathematics Olympiad. Good job, Katie.

Great job Pride Club!  The Faculty vs. Student Basketball Game was fantastic last night! Thanks to Mr.’s. Guth, Bolser, Cain, P Cavanaugh, Peters, Schwanekamp, Early, McKeon, Short, White, Byers, Williams and Knueve.  Thanks to the student team, Zach Parker, Garrett Goodbar, Nick Collier, Matt Clark, Chuck Jones, Taylor White, Ryan Kinsey and Brian Paris. Also, student coaches, Eli Wheeler, Justin Tharp, Addison Hummel and Tyler Vuurman. The Faculty won with a score of 46 to 37. The really important number is $2,650.00. That is the amount of money raised for Cory Lane and his family. Cory’s smile said it all!

Looking for an excuse to go to EL MESON?  The wrestling team is happy to give you one! Please come to El Meson TONIGHT and a portion of the proceeds will go to the wrestling program!

Stop by the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library for Cookie Decorating on February 22nd from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Teens in grades 6 through 12 stop by the West Meeting Room to decorate a cookie. We’ll provide the supplies; you provide the creativity! Free; no registration required.

Pathfinder Fantasy Role Playing Game at the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library on February 23rd from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Teens in grades 6 through 12 enjoy fantasy role playing games and snacks. Free; no registration required.

Attention all cast members of the spring one-acts. The first rehearsal for ALL plays will be this Thursday, February, 23 after school in the drama room. Scripts should be available for pick up tomorrow. All cast members need to attend the first rehearsal on Thursday.

Seniors who have RSVP’d for the senior etiquette dinner can check the window in student services for your table assignment. Please enter through door 7 starting at 5:25 and check in with the ladies in front of the cafeteria. Presentation begins promptly at 6 in the cafeteria.

Thanks to support from the Hendricks County Community Foundation, North Salem State Bank, Smithville Charitable Foundation, State Bank of Lizton, Hendricks College Network, First National Bank, Brownsburg Educations Foundation, and The Plainfield Legacy Foundation – on Tuesday, February 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. staff from the National Center for College Costs, Twenty-first Century Scholars Program and volunteers from North Salem State Bank will be available to help seniors and their parents file their FAFSA’s and to interpret their results here at Plainfield High School. Please know there is no cost to attend – thanks to the grant from our sponsors!


Attention all college bound seniors! The deadline for the Hendricks County Community Foundation is quickly approaching. Your application is due by midnight on Tuesday, February 28th. It is a great opportunity to apply for several scholarships with just one application! Please check out the newest scholarship list on the guidance web page or pick up a copy in guidance. This is your chance to earn some money for college!

It’s Spirit Night for the PHS Band at Chick-fil-A on Tuesday, February 29th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Tell them you are there for the PHS Band.  Thanks for joining us!

Club News:

The Anime-Manga Club will be having a meeting and yearbook photo taken TODAY after school. The yearbook photo will be taken at 3.10 PM sharp, so don't be late. The meeting will be in Room F102. See you there!

Attention DECA STATE TEAM members. There is a parent meeting tomorrow night at 6:30 pm in G101 to discuss the state competition. Also, all money and forms are due to the treasurer by next Tuesday the 28th.

The MSA will be meeting this Friday at 7:15am.


Sports News:

Congratulations to senior diver Evan Becker for finishing fourth at the Brownsburg Diving Regional last night. With his finish Evan qualifies for the state championship this Saturday at the IUPUI Natatorium. Freshman diver Aaron Lux finished 18th at regional to wrap up a strong season. Good job gentlemen and good luck Evan at state!

The boys swimming and diving team did a great job this weekend finishing third in the Avon Sectional. Leading the way for the Quakers bringing home first places were Nick Allen in the 500 free and Evan Becker in diving. Also qualifying for the state championship was Andrew Wright in the 100 yard breaststroke, setting a new school record; the 200 medley relay of Allen, Wright, Chris Tice, and Michael Hurst also a new school record, and the 400 freestyle relay of Tice, Allen, Hurst, and Ben Miller. Also scoring for the Quakers were Robert Weisbach, Jackson Charles, Zach Rosine, James Pawloski, Alex Philip, Luke Bridge, Dakota Rhodes, Seth Hayden, Trent Brink, and Tanner Bailey. Aaron Lux advanced to the Brownsburg diving regional tonight, along with Evan. Diving starts at 6 pm. Great job gentlemen and good luck tonight to Evan and Aaron at regionals!!
