The Science Department is pleased to announce the following winners of the underclassmen Science Departmental Awards: Outstanding Chemistry I students are Eddie Vaughn and Matt Muskat. Outstanding AP Chemistry student is Jessica Tice. Oustanding Anatomy student is Kristen Mylcraine. Outstanding Physics I student is Jessica Tice. Congratulations on your great work and effort!

SENIORS! A reminder that if you qualified for exemptions and want to exempt a final that the form with teacher initials must be turned in to Student Services by the end of the day TODAY!
The last day for NHS tutoring is TODAY. There will be no tutoring during final exam week.
Interested in disaster preparedness? The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is offering FREE training for students who will be in HS during the next school year. This training will teach teens to help themselves and others in the event of a disaster. Registration is due TODAY. See Mrs. Thompson, Officer Felix, or Miss Draper for information.
Seniors, your grandparents called it Baccalaureate. We call it a Christian Celebration of Graduation for you, family, and friends. It’s this Sunday at 4:00 in the Auditorium. There will be light refreshments afterwards in the Ellipse. See you at Baccalaureate this Sunday at 4:00.

Attention Students!! There will be a call out meeting for all students interested in joining DECA for the 2012-2013 school year on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:15 in the LGI room. We will also be announcing the new officers for next year, and hearing from our two national attendees about their experiences at DECA Nationals ! Not sure what DECA is all about? Come to this meeting and find out!

Medications left in the nurse's office after school Thursday, May 24 will be destroyed. Anyone wanting to keep their medication needs to bring a note from their parent and pick it up at the end of the school day. Controlled substances may only be picked up by parents.
The Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library is kicking off the summer reading program for all ages on Thursday, May 31st at 5:30 p.m. Registration is online this year at www.plainfieldlibrary.net.
Do you need service hours? Do you want to participate in an extremely rewarding experience this summer? Octagon Club is looking for student volunteers to work their summer lunch bunch kids' fair at Gladden Farms on June 26. More information and sign-up sheets are available in rooms E110 and F202, or you can talk to Kayleigh Brummett, Kori Brummett, or Kelsey Baker.
RESQ Health and Safety Training in Indianapolis is currently enrolling for Summer CNA and EMT classes. These are great classes to jump start your career in the medical field. Students who successfully complete either program will receive an IDOE approved industry certification and may be eligible for college credit. If you are interested, stop by the guidance office to pick up more information.
Overdue library books need to be turned into the library as soon as possible, if you have a library book that you have lost, please pay the cashier and take your receipt to the library.
Sports News:
The Red Pride Golf team won last night on Senior night honoring Rylan Porter, Jon Daum and Austin Skaggs. The team shot 146 while Franklin shot 172. Leading the team were Porter 34, Daum 36, Gulley 38 and Heckman 39. The boys will compete at the conference match Saturday at Hickory Stick golf course. Wish them luck!
The freshman baseball team battled hard, but were defeated by Ben Davis 10-5. Aaron Lux ran through a wall to make a catch. The team plays their final games tomorrow at home at 10 am and 11:30.
The Boys Track team finshed 2nd to the 8th ranked Avon Orioles at the Sectional Meet last night. Winning for Plainfield: Abiel Mogos in the 3200. Also Qualifying for the Regional at Lafayette Jeff: The 4x800 Relay team of Andy Kain, Abiel Mogos, Ryan Justus, and Charlie Hoying; the 4x100 Relay team of Keshawn Robinson, Dallon Howard, Anthony Savoy, and Josh Miller: the 4x400 Relay team of Zach Richardson, Keshawn Robinson, Garrett Patton, and Garrett Goodbar; Josh Miller in the 100m dash; Garrett Patton in the 200m dash; Zach Richardson in the 400m dash; Charlie Hoying in the 800m run; Joel Thompson in the 1600m run; Anthony Savoy in the 300m Intermediate Hurdles and Long Jump; Keshawn Robinson in the Long Jump. Also placing for Plainfield: Ryan Justus, Nik Miller, Jakeb Miller, Drew Thomas, Austin Chase, Dallon Howard, Josh Miller, Collin Maple, Austin Hall, and Joel Thompson. Thanks to all the teachers and track team members that worked at the meet last night. Reminder to all team members that are NOT qualified for Regional to get your uniforms to Coach Pelkey ASAP.
The varsity softball team defeated Monrovia last night 10-0. Courtney Collins was the winning pitcher. Maggie Stahl went 2 for 3 and Katie Gilbert went 3 for 4 at the plate. Hallie Johanningsmeier was 2 for 4, with a triple and 3 RBIs. Come out and support the team tonight at 5:30 as they take on Pike.
Attention all football players: On Thursday, May 24TH we will issue equipment, practice packs, and have a mandatory team meeting in the football building. The team meeting will take place immediately following school. You must attend the meeting and get equipment on Thursday!!! If you’re a spring athlete and still in-season, you can pick up your equipment on MAY 29th after lifting at 11am.
