Clarks Creek Student Puts December Value Into Action

When Clarks Creek Elementary 5th grader Anna Steely wrote to Barnes and Noble on behalf of her friend and classmate, Amberlee Scott, the company took almost no time at all to respond in a big way.  Roberta Sears, Community Relations Manager at the Plainfield store, delivered the donated items on Tuesday, December 20th.

An avid reader herself, Anna had seen the simplicity of the Nook Simple Touch and saw the potential for someone like Amberlee.   Anna’s letter explained that 11-year-old Amberlee has cerebral palsy which makes it difficult for her to turn pages on her own.

Anna had reached out to two other companies in hopes of helping her friend find an easier method of reading.  She heard nothing back from the two companies.  But Barnes and Noble stepped up and made a huge difference in Amberlee’s life that will not soon be forgotten.  Thank you, Anna, for your persistence in putting kindness into action.
