A 2nd grade student blows a huge bubble after creating his own bubble-making kit during a STEM activity

A new outdoor learning space. The last week of the school year. Warm weather. Second grade students. A STEM project.

Making bubbles has come a long way since many of us were children, but today, students at Central Elementary used a variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills to create their own bubble-making kits. And while blowing bubbles at the end was great fun, they also enjoyed learning how to apply their STEM skills to the process.

How perfect that they could do all this on the safely enclosed, newly furnished outdoor patio, located just off of the school's media center. With several picnic tables and plenty of kid-friendly art and activities, the space has been quickly transformed into a wonderful learning center.
