Today, teachers are students at The Imagination Lab

While students are enjoying a sunny, warmer day at home, PCSC teachers are in class. And elementary teachers are spending half their day at The Imagination Lab, where, for most of them, it's their first visit.

But they aren't just taking a tour, they are discovering the many ways learning will take place, including completing many of the experiences students will go through when the new school years begins. From an overall introduction, to hands-on small group experiences, teachers are moving, thinking, creating and collaborating while solving problems.

The second group just arrived and began their first odyssey, which is what students will call their visits to The Imagination Lab. It's a great opportunity for our volunteers and staff (Dr. Mary Giesting will be the Director, while Mrs. Tracy Ballinger is the Assistant Director) to learn as well.

Speaking of volunteers: they will play an incredibly important and ongoing role in the success of The Imagination Lab. Today we've been lucky enough to have a group from the Plainfield Kohl's store (#LifeAtKohls, #KohlsCares) who came in early, learned about the different experiences and activities, then led our teachers through them. We continue to look for volunteers to provide vital support; for more information or to volunteer, click here: http://tiny.cc/jqelsy. For today, we want to give a HUGE shout out to our friends from Kohl's!

And in all fairness, The Imagination Lab is all about new ways of learning, with lots of  questioning and trial and error, then learning from those experiences. So while today's odysseys are important for our teachers, they are equally as important for Dr. Giesting and Mrs. Ballinger!
