A reminder of how we handle delays and cancellations

Plainfield school families haven't had to wonder about two-hour delays this week, since Christmas Break started, and ended, later than some of our neighboring school districts. But the forecast for Sunday evening, at least this far in advance, contains those dreaded words, "wintry mix."

If you have any questions about our process for determining when to cancel school or call a two-hour delay, we've outlined the answers on our website (click here: Weather Delays and Cancellations.

We firmly believe that a regular routine is best for students and parents alike. We have confidence in our Transportation Department and their ability to keep buses running efficiently, and the Town of Plainfield does a remarkable job clearing our streets. In the end, however, the ultimate decision about sending children to school belongs to the parent.

Let's hope the weather cooperates and the "wintry mix" falls apart. We're ready to see the faces of our students, and to get back to the important work of discovery and learning!
